ReplyDeleteMontessori's ideas have proven to be prescient and enduring at the same time. Her intuitive thinking and researched ideas about the value of movement, experiential learning, hands-on materials and peace education are more valuable and meaningful than ever before. What I hope is her recognition of the importance of the individual and the community is paired with the power of digital technologies to create a better and more humane world.

ReplyDelete21st century education is, by necessity, ever-changing. In order to properly prepare our children for life in a technological culture, we must be willing to adapt our teaching.
ReplyDeleteThe ability to ask important questions and then access reliable information and judge its value, bias, and accuracy is imperative with the amount of information that children are bombarded with every day.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to communicate is to learn the language, and the language of the twenty-first century is rapidly changing. Twenty -first century learning includes the ability to quickly access more information that one person can comprehend, so we must be careful about resources. Pictures are more easily accessed. A picture is worth a thousand word, but they can also be deceptive.
